NEWS/EVENTS:

A Scout is Reverent.....

The Religious Emblem Program in Scouting is a program to help the boy deepen his faith and understanding of God.  It is offered in many different religions.  In Pack 101, we have active programs in the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Jewish faiths.

The Religious Emblem Program is done in the home using a workbook which can be purchased.  Upon completion of the workbook, the Pack will arrange for the boy to meet with the Religious Emblem Coordinator for his faith to be "signed off" to his work.  Subsequently, either in his house of worship or in the Pack, the Religious Emblem will be awarded to the boy.  The emblems are the following:

Roman Catholic - The "Light of Christ" Program for Tiger (1st grade) and Wolf (2nd grade) Cubs and the "Parvuli Dei "(Children of God) Program for Bears (3rd grade) and Webelos (4 & 5th grade).  The link at left is to the National Catholic Committee on Scouting and to the workbook sites.  The Roman Catholic Emblem Coordinator for Pack 101 is St. Mary's Coordinator for Scouting, Susan Cannatella (scannatella@)msn.com or 365 5520).  St. Mary's initiates the program each Fall for completion at Scout Sunday in February.

Protestant The "God and Me" Program for Tiger, Wolf and Bear Cubs and the "God and Family" Program for Webelos.  The link at left is to the BSA page on Scouting in Protestant Churches.  By using the information on that site, and the workbook sites at left, your son can begin the program in the home.

Jewish - The "Maccabee" Program for Tiger Cubs and the "Aleph" Program for older Cub Scouts.  The link at left is to the National Jewish Committee on Scouting where these programs are described.  By using that information, and the workbook sites at left, your son can begin the program in the home.
