MEMORANDUM OF APPRECIATION

SUBJECT: Receipt of “Operation: Shoebox” Care Packages

1. I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly thank the Cub Scout Pack 101 from Manhasset, NY.  They spent valuable time and effort to provide my unit with “Operation: Shoe Box” care packages.  Their selfless service and genuine concern for deployed service members is evident and highly appreciated.

2.  It is without reservation that I commend the pack, their friends, families, and other loved ones for the resiliency they have shown over the past 10 years.  The strength, honor, and fellowship necessary to endure hard times is possessed by few.  Your organization seems determined to instill those characteristics in the young boys of Pack 101.  I am an Eagle Scout and understand the importance of your organization.  It teaches precious life lessons and values that are becoming increasingly scarce; I am grateful for your dedication to these ideals.

3.  On behalf of myself and my unit, I thank you again for the care packages you sent in support of the soldiers of Operation Enduring Freedom.  They have been well received, and the soldiers appreciate them very much.  It is my sincerest hope that all the scouts, parents, leaders, and congregation of the sponsoring church have a safe and joyous Holiday season.
